Another feature of Office 2010 is called "unified communications." When a user moves the cursor over the name of a colleague, up pops a box that shows whether that person is online—and offers the option of e-mailing, calling, or setting up a meeting. The program will also offer new social networking capabilities and ways to track down co-workers with specific skills.
Microsoft and their partners continue to go to the bank with Office and Sharepoint. I think that IBM/Lotus should point out that their customers have been benefiting from UC for several years while the MS faithful have been waiting for Redmond to invent it.
